The Creator:
Hello! I'm Kenai (pronounced "Kuh-Nay"), a content creator with a decade-plus of experience, having first dipped my toes into this world in 2011. While my path has included starting (and, yes, closing due to self-doubt and imposter syndrome) three YouTube channels, each step has been a vital part of my evolution as a creator.
Originally from Oklahoma (a proud OKC Thunder fan and #BoomerSooner!), I grew up and learned about life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I have lived in Minnesota and Georgia as well but ultimately decided to plant roots back in California to bring my creative goals to life!
Why The Outdoors?
My connection to the outdoors deepened significantly during my decade in Georgia, from 2010 to 2020. At the time, I was immersed in videography for aspiring music artists. While I enjoyed the creative work, I found myself needing an escape from that particular lifestyle, and nature provided the perfect sanctuary.
It was in 2016 that I realized I could merge this newfound passion for the outdoors with my long-standing love for filmmaking. This blend felt incredibly natural and fulfilling. I truly wish I had preserved some of that early content; it would be fantastic to share it here now. Unfortunately, in moments of frustration with the creative process, I ended up deleting it all.
But every step, even the ones that led to deleted files, has shaped my journey as a creator.
Goal:
My goal with this website, my YouTube channel, and all my social media platforms is simple: to finally get out of my own head and truly put myself out there. It's about embracing the journey, sharing my passions, and pushing past the self-imposed limits. #GoFurther
